"Last weekend, this group had to find a way to win," said head coach Mickey Dean. "I was proud to see this young team continue to battle in not ideal conditions. This weekend, we're hoping to see continued improvement as we feel out our lineup and position groups."

Junior Makayla Packer leads the team with six RBI while adding a 1.000 slugging percentage. Three of Packer's five hits have gone for extra bases.

In the circle, Emmah Rolfe (1-0) has yet to allow a run to score and leads the team with 12 strikeouts. In her eight innings of work, the sophomore given up just three hits to hold opponents to a .115 average. With a pair of wins to her credit, Widra holds a 0.88 ERA and has struck out eight.
