TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Auburn freshman Ava Esposito Cogan earned a pair of singles victories while senior Adeline Flach picked up one singles win during day one of the Roberta Alison Fall Classic on Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

"Great competitors find a way to rise to a high standard," said Auburn head coach Caroline Lilley. "The standard becomes the normal, and that new normal separates the great from the average. Learning is the catalyst for meaningful growth. We will grow because we will learn."

Cogan began the day with a straight set victory over Samford's Alexis Lopez in the opening round of singles, then defeated Brianna Crowley of Ole Miss 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-2 in the second round. The two wins moves Cogan into the finals for her respective draw. and improve her singles record to 3-6 this fall. After dropping her first round match, Flach bounced back with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory over South Alabama's Nikola Novotna to claim her second singles win of the season.
