AUBURN, Ala. – No. 3 Auburn men's golf closes out its already stellar fall slate with a series of exhibition matches Monday, Oct. 30 – Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the Cypress Point Classic hosted by the legendary Cypress Point Club in Monterey California.

The Cypress Point Classic is an eight-team Ryder Cup-style tournament. The opening round will be foursomes followed by fourball. The first two stages take place Monday. Tuesday's final matches are singles matches.

Joining No. 3 Auburn out west are No. 4 Arizona State, No. 5 Georgia Tech, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 11 Texas, No. 18 Illinois, RV Pepperdine and RV Stanford.

"You can't ask for a better way to end the fall than with a handful of matches against some of the best teams in the country on a course as fantastic as Cypress Point," Tigers head coach Nick Clinard said. "These are the types of teams you see at the end of May at the national championship. This is going to be the best source of preparation for our guys to further develop them into a championship-caliber team. It's an experience that few golfers get to have in their college careers, so I know we are going to soak it up."

Auburn's top six for the tournament are fifth-year Alex Vogelsong, senior J.M. Butler, redshirt junior Carson Bacha, junior Brendan Valdes, sophomore Reed Lotter and freshman Jackson Koivun.

Live scoring for the Cypress Point Classic will be limited, however, results following each day will be available on Golfstat.com.
