AUBURN, Ala. – Oscar Chapman was named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for Week 5, the Augusta Sports Council and the Ray Guy Award announced Monday.

Chapman, who was chosen from Ray's 8, punted five times Saturday against Georgia for a total of 256 yards. The senior had a long punt of 71 yards at the end of the first half that was downed at the Georgia 4-yard line. It was tied for the third-longest punt in Auburn history and matched the number for the longest punt in the SEC this season.

The 71-yard punt by Chapman was one of three punts that ended up inside Georgia's 20-yard line Saturday. He finished with a gross average of 51.2 yards and a net average of 52.4 yards due to him having only one punt returned for -6 yards.

Chapman, a fourth-year starter, was named a Ray Guy Award semifinalist last year and made the Ray Guy Award preseason watch list this year. He currently ranks fifth in the SEC averaging 42.2 yards on 21 punts through the team's first five games.
