Auburn, Ala. - Following their successful performances at last week's Southeastern Conference Championships, Auburn senior Ryan Kinnane and freshman Max Hardin were named to the Men's Second Team All-SEC and Men's Freshman All-SEC Team, respectively.

The cross country team competed in Columbia, South Carolina at the Charwood Golf Club. The men took home fifth place and the women finished in 11th place.

Kinnane completed his 8k in 23:13.30 and finished ninth overall. It was the best individual finisher for an Auburn man at SECs since Ty McCormack nine years ago. A year ago, Kinnane finished in 11th place, and with a ninth-place finish this year, it was the best back-to-back performance at SECs since McCormack and Kane Grimster's top 10 finishes in 2013 and '14. The week prior, Kinnane was named SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Making his SEC championship debut, Hardin was the third freshman to finish the course. The Auburn, Alabama native finished with a time of 24:13.00 in 29th place. He had the best SEC performance at the conference meet by a rookie since 2018.

Cross Country All-SEC Teams are determined by the placement of individual athletes at the SEC Championships. The first team for men and women includes the top seven finishers, and the second team includes the next seven finishers.  The top seven freshmen earn All-Freshman honors.
