AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn's Kaitlyn Carnicella and Ava Esposito Cogan will participate in the ITA Southern Regional Championships beginning Friday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ITA Southern Region includes all Division I schools in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
Carnicella and Cogan were selected to compete both collectively in the doubles main draw and individually in the singles main draw, allowing the two Tigers to skip the qualifying rounds played Thursday.
The singles main draw rounds will be played Friday through Tuesday while the doubles main draw will take place Saturday through Tuesday.
Carnicella has picked up five doubles wins this season, and Friday will mark the first time the sophomore has been paired with Cogan. Carnicella has earned four singles wins in two tournaments this fall while Cogan, a freshman, will aim for her first singles victory since joining the Tigers.
