AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn earned two singles victories and a pair of doubles wins during the second day of the Auburn Invite at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on Saturday.
"Our opponents exposed some areas we can improve," said Auburn head coach Caroline Lilley. "It is hard enough playing the person across the net and that becomes more difficult when we play ourselves as well. I would love to see our group of young women find perspective which will allow us to enjoy the battle more."
The Tigers began the day in the morning wave of singles, where Adeline Flach dominated Alabama's Priya Nelson 6-1, 6-2 for her fourth singles win of the fall. DJ Bennett also won her match in straight sets, defeating Loudmilla Bencheikh of Alabama 6-1, 7-6 (3) for her team leading ninth singles win of the season.
Later in the day, Auburn earned a couple of doubles victories over teams from Florida. Selin Ovunc and Kaitlyn Carnicella defeated Sara Dahlstrom and Malwina Rowinska 6-4. After winning their doubles match on Friday, Flach and Bennett earned their second doubles win of the event over Qavia Lopez and Carly Briggs.
The Tigers will begin the final day of the Auburn Invite with doubles at noon CT followed directly by singles. Live video of the matches from the Yarbrough Tennis Center will be available on AuburnTigers.com while live results can be found at wearecollegetennis.com.
