AUGUSTA, Ga. – Auburn senior Megan Schofill fired a final round 1-over 73 for a three-round total of 219 (+3) to finish in a tie for 14th place at the Augusta National Women's Amateur on Saturday. Schofill battled back during the third round by carding a 4-under 32 on her second nine with four birdies to move up 14 spots on the leaderboard from where she began the round.

"It's always amazing when you get to play Augusta National, but to get to play a competitive round here is something you can't put into words," Schofill said during her post-round interview. "To end on the front nine and with a couple of birdies coming in made this a really enjoyable day."

Schofill's final round, which began on the 10th tee, got off to a difficult start with the senior being 3-over coming out of Amen Corner. Schofill then fired a close approach on the famous par three 16th hole at Augusta National that led to a birdie prior the round being suspended due to inclement weather. After play resumed, Schofill made the turn at 5-over for the day.

The Monticello, Florida native was dialed in during her second nine. After narrowly missing the green in two on the par five second hole, Schofill had a great up-and-down to record her second birdie of the round. She also was able to make an impressive putt for another birdie on No. 5 that moved her back to 3-over for the day.

Schofill then picked up a birdie on the other par five on the front side, the eighth hole, and nearly holed out from the fairway on her final hole of the day to make it back-to-back birdies to finish the round strong.

"On the second nine, I knew there were some birdies out there," said the Auburn senior. "I felt like I was hitting the ball well, I just couldn't get anything going on my first nine and probably just calmed down a little bit and got comfortable."

Saturday marked Schofill's first ever competitive round at Augusta National and her best finish of her three occasions playing in the ANWA.
