Moving Day: No. 1 Auburn soars into second behind record 27-under round at Amer Ari

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii -- Friday's forecast at Mauna Lani Golf Club was calling for 60s as every man in the Auburn lineup recorded sub-70 rounds to lift the Tigers into second place on the leaderboard behind a program-record 27-under outing. 

Auburn sits at 43-under 533 ahead of Saturday's finale and trails No. 2 North Carolina by three strokes. 

Friday's surge was led by freshman Jackson Koivun, who carded a 63 (-9). Koivun stands tied for second amongst all players in the field. Sophomore Reed Lotter shot 65 (-7), followed by redshirt-junior Carson Bacha at 66 (-6), junior Brendan Valdes at 67 (-5) and fifth year Alex Vogelsong with a 69 (-3). Freshman individual player Cayden Pope carded a 71 (-1). 

For Saturday's third and final round, Auburn will play alongside North Carolina, Arizona State and Washington. Auburn will open on holes 1-3 with yet another 11:30 a.m. CT shotgun start.
