Pope leads Auburn foursome at Wolfpack Individual

RALEIGH, N.C. — Auburn freshman Cayden Pope carded the first top-five finish of his collegiate career Sunday to lead the foursome of Tigers competing at the Wolfpack Individual at Lonnie Poole Golf Club. 

Pope shot 71-70 to finish at 1-under 141 and fifth overall in the 75-man field. 

Graduate student Hal Dove and fifth year Alex Vogelsong each finished just inside the top 20 with 5-over 147s. Dove finished strong with a 71 (E) after a 76 (+5) in the first round. Vogelsong also saved his best for last and shot 72 (+1) after a 75 (+4) on Saturday. The final Tiger, freshman Josiah Gilbert, earned a tie for 35th after a 75-75 (+8) weekend.
