AUBURN, Ala. – The first National Qualifying Score rankings were released this week and the Auburn gymnastics team stands at No. 14 with a 197.125.
The NQS rankings take the top six scores, dropping the highest before adding the next five and finding the average. Three of the five scores added together must be on the road.
Oklahoma remains at No. 1 with a 198.270 NQS. LSU holds at No. 2 with a 197.845, while California (197.810), Utah (197.645), and Florida (197.600) round out the top five. The rest of the Southeastern Conference is among the top 20 – Kentucky (No. 6), Alabama (No. 9), Arkansas (No. 12), Missouri (No. 13), and Georgia (No. 20).
Auburn's beam squad is ranked tenth nationally with a 49.275 NQS. The vault team is 16th at 49.215. The floor crew is 17th with a 49.375 and bars 24th with an NQS of 49.165.
Individually, fifth-year Cassie Stevens bumped up to 14th in the all-around with an NQS of 39.500. She is 25th nationally on vault (9.880) and is ranked 30th on beam (9.871).
Senior Olivia Hollingsworth is ranked 24th in the all-around with an NQS of 39.405. She is 34th nationally on floor (9.905) after matching her career high on Friday with a 9.95. Junior Sophia Groth is also ranked within the top 50 with an all-around NQS of 39.165.
Senior Gabby McLaughlin is 21st nationally on beam, holding a 9.895 mark.
Auburn returns to the road this week to compete against No. 20 Georgia in Athens. The teams will face off at 6 p.m. CT on the SEC Network in Stegeman Coliseum.
