LAS VEGAS — Another clutch subpar round from freshman Jackson Koivun helped the No. 2 Tigers inch higher up the leaderboard following Monday's round two of the Southern Highlands Collegiate.

Koivun carded a 70 (-2) for the second day in a row and sits tied for third individually at 4-under through 36 holes. As a team, Auburn currently shares sixth place with No. 20 Illinois with a cumulative 582 (+6). Heading into the final round, Auburn trails the team leader, No. 15 Oklahoma, by seven strokes. It's anyone's game ahead of the finale as just nine strokes seperate first from 10th.

Junior Brendan Valdes has been another bright spot for the Tigers this week. The Orlando, Florida product sits just outside the top 10 at 1-under after shooting 71 (-1) Monday. As far as the rest of the lineup is concerned, redshirt-junior Carson Bacha is 3-over, sophomore Reed Lotter is 8-over and senior J.M. Butler is 15-over. Missouri's Jack Lundin leads all individuals at 8-under.
