BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the fifth time this season, Auburn men's golfer Jackson Koivun has been awarded as one of the Southeastern Conference's top players of the week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
 
After pushing the Tigers to comeback, second-place finish at the Southern Highlands Collegiate as well as earning a sixth consecutive top-20 individual placement, Koivun was awarded as the SEC's Freshman Golfer of the Week.
 
It is the second time Koivun has earned the honor. He has also won Player of the Week on three occasions.
 
The rookie from Chapel Hill, North Carolina shot 70-70-71 (-5) to finish tied for fourth overall. He beat the nearest freshman by five strokes and the nearest freshman from the SEC by seven strokes.
 
Koivun and the No. 1 Tigers return to action next week, March 4-5, at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at historic Pinehurst No. 2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
