AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn senior Carsen McFadden has been named to the SEC Community Service Team for women's basketball, the conference office announced today.
McFadden has been active in multiple community service efforts with Auburn women's basketball and through other areas on campus. She was part of the team participating in Opelika's Juneteenth Celebration and helped coordinate visits with Our House with their Breakfast Club and Secret Santa projects.
She has volunteered her time with the Lee County Youth Development Center and read to students at Ogletree Elementary School and Pick Elementary School. She also participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration with the Dream Day Foundation.
The senior from Fairview, Texas, has been a leader on and off the court, leading the Tigers' scout team in preparation for each game. She is also a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection and is scheduled to graduate from Auburn in May with a degree in journalism.
This marks the 26th year for the SEC Community Service Team for women's basketball as well as for men's basketball. All league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men's and women's sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.
