KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three times the charm for Auburn's Johni Broome (Plant City, Fla.) as he earned NABC Division I All-District First Team honors for the third time of his collegiate career on Tuesday.

After leading the No. 7-ranked Tigers to its third-ever Southeastern Conference Tournament title and being named tournament MVP over the weekend in Nashville, Broome continues to rack up national accolades as one of the best big men in all of college basketball this season.

He became the 14th player in program history to receive an All-America nod and heads into this week's NCAA Tournament as one of the top players to watch during March Madness. Broome is averaging a team-leading 16.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

He previously was selected to the NABC All-District First Team during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, while at Morehead State.

The junior forward/center recorded his 2,000th career point in the SEC Championship game versus Florida with 19 points and 11 rebounds – his 59th career double-double, which ranks sixth nationally among active NCAA career leaders. Broome is currently on a 25-game double-digit scoring streak. He has tabulated 2,003 career points, 1,191 rebounds, 178 assists, 342 blocks and 100 steals to date.
