Cassie Stevens earns SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year

AUBURN, Ala. – Cassie Stevens, a graduate student on the Auburn gymnastics team, was named the Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second-straight season, the league announced Friday.
 
The honor is the program's eighth scholar award from the conference, marking the most by any school in the sport. In addition, Stevens is the fourth gymnast in the league to win back-to-back awards and the second Tiger to do so. Former Auburn gymnast Laura Lane was the SEC's winner in 2011 and 2012.
 
Stevens, a Phoenix, Arizona, product owns a 4.00 grade-point average in graduate school as she works towards her master's in exercise science. She earned her undergraduate degree in Information Systems Management with a 4.0 GPA.
 
Stevens has competed in the all-around in every meet this season and ranks among the Top 15 nationally in the all-around with an NQS of 39.590. She has claimed 13 event titles this year: five in the all-around, four on vault, three on beam and one on floor. Stevens has set or tied career highs in the all-around (3.7), bars (9.925), beam (9.975) and floor (9.925) this season. She has recorded six scores of 39.550 or higher in the all-around, including a career-high 39.700.
 
She is a four-time Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Scholastic All-American, a three-time Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll honoree and earned a spot on the 2019-20 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. A 2023 AAI Award nominee, Stevens is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. The 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) First Team Academic All-American has been named to Auburn's Dean's List seven times during her collegiate career.
