AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 14 Auburn gymnastics team is officially into the NCAA postseason and will be the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Gymnastics Berkeley Regional held April 5-7 in Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, California.
The Tigers will kick things off in the NCAA Regional Second Round on Friday, April 5 and will compete in the night session at 9 p.m. CT against No. 1 seed and host Cal, Stanford and the winner of the Southern Utah/San Jose St. play in.
"We're excited to start the process of qualifying through the bracket," head coach Jeff Graba said. "It's a tough trip for us and we'll be traveling the farthest of anyone in our bracket. However, we have the talent and the ability to make some noise, and that is our intention. We are fully embracing the opportunity."
The afternoon session of the second round will feature No. 2 seed Denver, No. 3 seed UCLA, Arizona State and Washington.
The top two teams from each of the two sessions on April 5 will advance to the regional final on Sunday, April 7.
The top two squads from the regional final and the top all-around competitor (who is not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the 2023 NCAA Championship, April 18-20, in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, the top event specialist on each event who is not a part of the advancing team or all-around competitor will advance to the national championship in that event only.
