AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Caroline Fredenburg of the No. 6 Auburn equestrian team was named the SEC Horsemanship Rider of the Month for February, the Southeastern Conference announced Thursday.
The conference honor is the second of the season for Fredenburg and of her career. The award is also Auburn's fourth of the season in the event.
The Straughn, Indiana product went 3-0-0 in February, including two wins on the road against conference opponents. She kicked things off with a 71-68.5 victory at No. 5 South Carolina on March 3.
Fredenburg followed with a 74.5-73 victory at nationally-ranked Georgia on March 10. She finished the month with a 76.5 in her three-point win at vs. No. 8 UT Martin on March 17. That victory gave her MOP honors and helped the Tigers top the Skyhawks.
Overall, Fredenburg averaged a 74 with a 2.33.
Fredenburg and the Tigers close out the regular season at home this weekend, hosting College of Charleston and No. 3 Texas A&M at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.
