BOSTON, Massachusetts—Competing in her first NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Auburn junior Vimbayi Maisvorewa finished 14th in the women's 400m dash during the first day of the 2024 championships at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston Friday.
 
A native of Mutare, Zimbabwe, Maisvorewa earned second team All-America honors clocking a time of 53.29. After breaking Auburn's 13-year-old school record in the event two weeks ago at the Southeastern Conference Championships, Maisvorewa became the Tigers' first NCAA Indoor qualifier in the 400m since Joanna Atkins in 2010.
 
Auburn senior Sanaa Barnes and junior Simone Johnson will be competing Saturday in the final day of the championships. Making her third indoor nationals appearance, Barnes will compete in the women's high jump at 1 p.m. ET, while Johnson will make her second indoor NCAA appearance in the triple jump. Saturday's triple jump competition starts at 6:30 p.m. ET.
