BATON ROUGE, La. – Auburn softball's (22-13-1, 4-10 SEC) offense couldn't capitalize at the plate as No. 6 LSU (33-7, 10-7 SEC) evened the series with a 2-0 win Saturday at Tiger Park.

Auburn had four base runners Saturday night with the help of three walks and a hit by pitch. Its best soring chance came in the sixth inning as Auburn had two on with two outs, but The Tigers couldn't come up the with an equalizing hit.

Maddie Penta had a strong start in the circle retiring the first eight batters she faced, but a two-run homer in the third inning proved the difference in the game. Penta scattered six hits and a pair of walks while striking out two. She now stands at 13-7 on the season.

Sunday's rubber game is set for 1 p.m. CT on the SEC Network+.
