FORTH WORTH, Texas – Auburn men's golf freshman Jackson Koivun has been chosen as one of the 10 semifinalists for the 2024 Ben Hogan Award presented by PNC Bank, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.

The other semifinalist for this year's trophy are Luke Clanton (Florida State), Wenyi Ding (Arizona State), David Ford (North Carolina), Nick Gabrelcik (North Florida), Ben James (Virginia), Christo Lamprecht (Georgia Tech), Gordon Sargent (Vanderbilt), Preston Summerhays (Arizona State) and Michael Thorbjornsen (Stanford).

Koivun and Arizona State's Ding are the lone freshmen among those recognized.

Since 2002, the Ben Hogan Award annually honors the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months. An esteemed selection committee votes during each stage of the process. The selection committee is comprised of more than 30 leaders in collegiate, amateur and professional golf.

Nearing the end of his first season as a collegiate player, Koivun has padded his resumé with one win and eight top-five finishes, including the last seven consecutive tournaments. He's also carded 21 of 30 rounds played below par, which is the most by a true freshman in program history.

Koivun and company are set to return to action next week, April 24-28, at the 2024 SEC Championship hosted by Seaside Golf Club on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
