OCALA, Fla. – The No. 3 seed Auburn equestrian team fell to No. 6 Oklahoma State Thursday afternoon, 10-8, dropping a tightly-contested match in the 2024 NCEA Championship quarterfinals. The national meet is being held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.

"I was really proud of this team today," head coach Jessica Braswell said. "It was a really close meet and if you look at the scoresheet, you'd see that a handful of points were won by a couple of tenths of a point. I don't think we have anything to be upset about because we rode really well. Oklahoma State was just a little better.

"Our team finished as conference champs and had a great year," Braswell added. "Today just wasn't our day, but I'm still really happy with this season and how they finished it out."

The two teams battled to a 5-5 tie after Fences and Reining to start the afternoon.

Fences went 4-1-0 overall, seeing big rides across the board to kick off Jumping Seat action. After the Cowgirls took the first point, fifth year Ava Stearns put together an 87.67-83 win. Freshman Avery Glynn followed with an 85 in her win, while juniors Mary-Grace Segars and Sophee Steckbeck bested their opponents to close out the event.

Auburn's lone point in Reining came from sophomore Caroline Buchanan. She scored a 70.83 to top her opponent's 67.17.

The Tigers got two points in Flat in the second half of the day from Segars and senior Ellie Ferrigno. Segars edged Ella Reinauer, 83-82, while Ferrigno bested Riley Hogan, 79-73.

Sophomore Alexia Tordoff picked up a point in Horsemanship to close out the meet, scoring a 73.5 on her ride.

The Tigers concluded the year with a 9-6 overall record and captured the program's sixth-straight Southeastern Conference in March.
