AUBURN, Ala. – In the final midweek contest at Jane B. Moore this season, Auburn softball (20-12-1) hosts in-state foe UAB (17-21) Tuesday at Jane B. Moore Field.
"It's another in-state test," said head coach Mickey Dean. "Those are always tough and always have an edge to those games. Luckily, we're home and should have a great crowd behind us. It's our last chance to tune up a few things before we get back into the grind of conference play this weekend."

Auburn is coming off one of its best offensive weekends of the season as the Tigers went 3-1 at the War Eagle Classic with wins of Louisiana Tech and Georgia Tech. Over the four-game tournament stretch, Auburn averaged over six runs a game.
The Tigers hold a 15-2 advantage in the all-time series versus UAB and are looking to win their 13th consecutive game over the Blazers. Auburn's only two losses to the Blazers have come at Jane B. Moore Field as the Tigers hold an 8-2 record at home. Auburn's last loss to UAB came during the 2003 season.
With another win and save over the weekend, Maddie Penta continues to put up dominating numbers in the circle, especially in home contests. Since the 2023 season, Penta is 23-4 at Jane B. Moore Field with a 1.00 earned run average and 10 shutouts. She enters the midweek ranking second in the country in strikeouts (167) and third in shutouts (7).
Heating up at the plate, Makayla Packer enters Tuesday with a six-game hit streak. She has recorded two or more hits in three of her last four starts. Anna Wohlers leads the clubhouse with a .349 batting average, 29 hits and 23 runs scored. She ranks second on the team with a 1.046 OPS.
Amelia Lech continues to be an RBI and slugging powerhouse for the Tigers. She currently ranks ninth in the SEC in runs batted in per game (0.91), 10th in home runs per game (0.27), 11th in total home runs (9), 17th in slugging percentage (.676) and 18th in total RBI (30).
