Auburn with eight NCEA Ariat All-America honors

AUBURN, Ala. – Seven members of the Auburn equestrian team combined for eight NCEA Ariat All-America honors, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced Tuesday.
 
"It's great to have All-Americans in all four events," head coach Jessica Braswell said. "I think it shows our team's strength across the board. These individuals have worked hard all yea rand I'm glad to see their effort garner national recognition."
 
Four Western riders earned national recognition, while three Jumping Seat competitors were honored for the squad.
 
Fifth year Ava Stearns secured All-America honors for both Flat and Fences. She was named to the first team for Flat, holding a 10-2-0 record in the event with two MOPs. She was named to the second team for Fences, having an 8-3-1 record with one MOP.
 
With her two recognitions, Stearns will finish her career as an eight-time All-American for the Tigers. She's totaled five honors in Fences with three in Flat.
 
Joining her on the Fences list is senior Ellie Ferrigno and junior Sophee Steckbeck. The pair were placed on the first team. Steckbeck has a team-best 12 wins on the year with three MOPs, while Ferrigno holds a 10-3-1 record and also has three MOPs.
 
Three Tigers earned recognition in Horsemanship for the Tigers. Sophomores Caroline Fredenburg and Alexia Tordoff were placed on the second team as both hold a 10-3-1 overall record. Tordoff leads the team with five MOPs in the event, while Fredenburg has three.
 
Freshman Alexis Potts earned honorable mention, having an 8-3-0 record for the team.
 
Senior Isabella Tesmer continues to have an excellent season in Reining and was named to the first team for her efforts this year. She stands at 13-1-0 with three MOPS and her selection marks the second-straight year earning All-America.
