Murgett, Dobai conclude time at NCAA Doubles Championship

STILLWATER, Okla. – Auburn's Finn Murgett and Raul Dobai finished their run at the NCAA Doubles Championship on Wednesday at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. No. 21 Murgett and Dobai dropped the round of 16 match to third-ranked Robert Cash and JJ Tracy of Ohio State by a 6-2, 6-2 score.
 
The Ohio State duo jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the opening set before claiming it 6-2. With the match tied at two in the second set, Cash and Tracy won the next four consecutive games to earn the victory.
 
With the loss, the Auburn careers of both Murgett and Dobai comes to a close. This season, the senior duo posted an 11-11 overall record and were regulars in the No. 1 position of the Tigers' doubles lineup.
 
Murgett, through five seasons on the Plains, posted 78 doubles victories and 79 singles victories. He ranks tied for sixth in career doubles wins and tied for ninth in career singles wins in program history. Dobai concluded his college career with 97 combined victories.
 
In the final team rankings from the ITA that were released on Wednesday, the Tigers were ranked No. 24.
