AUBURN, Ala. – Taking her game to the next level, Maddie Penta has signed to play professionally with Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball and its AUX season this June.
 
Penta will compete at AUX in Wichita, Kansas from June 10 to June 25. AUX Softball features 42 athletes playing 18 games over a condensed season ahead of Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball's championship season, which begins in July. Past champions in the previous two AUX seasons include Danielle O'Toole (2022) and Rachel Garcia (2023).
 
Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball is in its fifth season of competition while its AUX division kicks off its third year of action next month.

AUX Softball holds its Series 1 Draft on June 7 at 11 a.m. CT with competition at Wilkins Stadium in Wichita beginning on June 10.
 
A two-time NFCA All-American and 2023 SEC Pitcher of the Year, Penta joins Athletes Unlimited after cementing herself as one of the most decorated pitchers to ever step foot in the circle at Auburn. The winningest pitcher in program history, Penta posted a 76-36 record with five saves to her credit while holding a career 1.79 earned run average.
 
One of just two pitchers in program history to record over 900 career strikeouts, Penta finished with 941 while holding opponents to a .180 average at the plate. Penta rounded out her time as a Tiger ranked in the top seven in 15 Auburn career pitching categories, holding program records in career wins (76), career starts (122) and career combined shutouts (20).
