DeWanna Bonner named WNBA All-Star for sixth time

AUBURN, Ala. – Connecticut Sun guard-forward and former Auburn great DeWanna Bonner was named a WNBA All-Star for the sixth time, the league announced Tuesday night.

 

Bonner, in her 15th WNBA season, is averaging a team-best 16.2 points per game, along with 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals for the Sun. She has led Connecticut in scoring in 15 of 19 games, including six games with 20-plus points. Earlier this season, she moved into fifth all-time in scoring in WNBA history and topped the 7,000-point career mark on May 28.

 

She was previously named a WNBA All-Star in 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2023.

 

Bonner and the Team WNBA All-Stars will take on the USA Basketball Women’s National Team in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, which will be played Saturday, July 20, in Phoenix. Game time is 7:30 p.m. CT, and the contest will air on ABC.
