Keionte Scott

AUBURN, Ala. The SEC’s leading punt returner in 2023 and the leader of Auburn’s secondary, senior defensive back Keionte Scott has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Paul Hornung Award, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Thursday.

Entering his third season at Auburn after twice earning junior college All-America honors at Snow College, Scott averaged 14.8 yards per punt return last season while making 44 tackles.

Scott earned SEC special teams player of the week honors after returning a punt 74 yards for a touchdown vs. Arkansas on Nov. 11, 2023.

Presented by Texas Roadhouse, the Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football.

Scott and the Tigers open the 2024 season Aug. 31 vs. Alabama A&M in Kickoff on The Plains at Jordan-Hare Stadium at 6:30 p.m. CT
