AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn sophomore Connor Lew has been selected as one of 40 watch list honorees for the 2024 Rimington Trophy, presented annually to college football’s top center.
One of 10 SEC centers on the watch list, the 6-3, 302-pound Lew took over the starting center position as a true freshman in 2023, making the SEC all-freshman team while earning freshman All-America honors from PFF and 24/7 Sports.
“There’s pressure being a leader on the team,” said Lew, a native of Kennesaw, Georgia, and member of Auburn’s culture council. “I look at it as a privilege. With pressure comes great responsibility.”
The Rimington Trophy committee worked with Pro Football Focus to determine its watch list representatives. PFF grades each player on every play throughout the season to determine how well they execute their assignment.
Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
