AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women’s tennis will begin the 2024 fall slate at the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic Friday through Sunday. This will be the second consecutive season that the Tigers have started the fall schedule at the event, which is in its 37th year.
The event will feature singles and doubles compass draws of eight each. Doubles matches will be played as eight game pro-sets with a tiebreaker played at 7-7. One round of singles matches and one round of doubles matches will be played each day.
Auburn will be joined in the field with players from Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Mississippi State, NC State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Texas Tech, Wake Forest and host school Furman.
Four players will be representing the Tigers at the event: Alice Battesti, Ava Esposito Cogan, Natalie Outcalt and Julie Bedard. Battesti, Outcalt and Bedard will each be making their college debuts at the tournament.
Due to forecasted weather, matches will be played at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center in Clemson, South Carolina, as well as the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, South Carolina. All four of Auburn’s players will be playing at Clemson to begin the tournament. Play is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Results will be posted to AuburnTigers.com at the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday.
