AUBURN, AL – A new era of Auburn softball is beginning under the direction of co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux and with them are eight new Tigers on The Plains looking to help make a mark in year one.
Transferring from Ole Miss, Ma’Nia Womack brings athleticism and playmaking ability. The Brandon, Mississippi, native saw limited action with the Rebels but brings several tools at the plate and won a pair of state championships at Hartfield Academy.
Q: How old were you when you started playing softball?
Womack: I started playing softball when I was three.
Q: Who has influenced your softball career the most?
Womack: Definitely my dad.
Q: What has been the highlight of your softball career so far?
Womack: My first collegiate hit being a home run.
Q: What advice would you give your younger self?
Womack: It’s okay to be competitive, but don’t forget it is still just a game. Have fun!
Q: Why did you decide Auburn was the best fit to continue your collegiate career?
Womack: The coaches and staff are the most caring, genuine and selfless people you will ever meet. They will help develop you as a player AND a person.
