BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — After a three-goal week for the sophomore from Richmond, Virginia, Auburn soccer’s Olivia Woodson was named the Southeastern Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
It is the fourth SEC weekly honor for a Tiger this season and the first for Woodson’s career.
Woodson netted her third career brace Thursday at Samford and followed it up with a 49th-minute game-winner Sunday versus No. 17 Ohio State. She sits on a team-leading six goals this season, five of which have come in Auburn’s last four matches.
At Samford, the forward scored Auburn’s second and fifth goals of the evening in minutes 10 and 54, respectively, to see the Tigers through to their first win over the Bulldogs since 2021.
Woodson clinched the Orange & Blue’s second top-25 result of the season with her Sunday heroics. With the goal, she locked up her first game-winner of the season and the second of her career.
It was Auburn’s first victory over a Big 10 foe since knocking off Minnesota in 2014.
Woodson and the No. 13 Tigers return to action this Friday, Sept. 13, as they round out nonconference play hosting Old Dominion in a 6:30 p.m. face off. A brief fireworks show will ensue for fans in attendance following the match.
