AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn men's tennis is set to play two matches on Sunday and Monday as a part of ITA Kickoff Weekend in Athens, Georgia. The Tigers will face familiar competition during the event with conference opponents No. 18 Texas A&M and No. 19 Georgia. The four-team field also includes Louisiana, a team Auburn has faced 13 times in program history.

Auburn will face the Aggies in its first match of the event on Sunday, then will face either Louisiana or host school Georgia on Monday. Texas A&M and Georgia will each enter Sunday with a 2-0 record while Louisiana will begin Sunday with a record of 0-3. In the most recent individual rankings from the ITA, the Bulldogs have four ranked singles players and one ranked doubles duo while Texas A&M claims two players in the singles rankings.

"We're going up against a great Texas A&M team," Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds said about Sunday's match. "Not a lot of difference from the roster we've seen the last couple of years. It's going to come down to a lot of the matchups we've played in the past and hopefully we can get those matchups we're looking for."

The Tigers began the season strong with back-to-back shutouts victories to open the season on January 14th over Samford and Alabama State. The team then missed action the following week when its matches against Tulane and Alabama A&M scheduled for January 20th were postponed.

"Our guys played great tennis last week and we're happy with the level we're playing at," continued Reynolds. "It's about going out and continuing to play at that level and having that belief in ourselves."

Sunday's match against Texas A&M will begin at 10 a.m. CT while Georgia and Louisiana will follow at 1:30 p.m. CT at the Magill Tennis Complex. On Monday, the loser of each respective match will play a consolation match at 10 a.m. CT while the winners will battle for a spot in the 2024 ITA National Indoor Team Championships at 1:30 p.m. CT.
