AUBURN, AL – A new era of Auburn softball is beginning under the direction of co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux and with them are eight new Tigers on The Plains looking to help make a mark in year one.

A true freshman from Schererville, Indiana, Jolie Adams is looking to find her spot in the outfield rotation. A standout at Lake Central, Adams begins her collegiate career after a highly decorated prep career that saw her earn All-America honors from PGF. 

Q: How old were you when you started playing softball? What are your earliest memories of the sport?

Adams: I was five. My earliest memory is picking flowers in the outfield.

Q: Who has influenced your softball career the most?

Adams: My sister, Danielle.

Q: What has been the highlight of your softball career so far?

Adams: Winning the PGF Nationals with Tennessee Mojo. 

Q: Are there any former athletes that you try to model your game after?

Adams: Aliyah Andrews. 

Q: Why did you decide to commit to Auburn?

Adams: Everyone treats you like family.

Q: How have your new teammates helped you adjust since arriving on campus?

Adams: My teammates have taken me in and shown me around. 

Q: How would you describe the coaching staff at Auburn?

Adams: Welcoming and personable. 

Q: What’s one word to describe yourself on the field and one word to describe yourself off the field?

Adams: On the field, versatile. Off the field, chill. 

Q: What’s your jersey number? Does it have any special meaning?

Adams: I wear No. 30. My number was taken about six years ago, and I was assigned 30. Now, it just fits me. 

Q: What HAS to be on your pregame playlist?

Adams: DaBaby.

Q: What is your favorite holiday?

Adams: Thanksgiving. Lots of food and too many cousins. 

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Adams: Chicken tenders and fries. 

Q: If you were stranded on an island, what teammates would you want with you?

Adams: Icess (Tresvik) to do my hair. Thalia (Martin) to make me laugh and dance. Ma’Nia (Womack) and Kyla (Stroud) for moral support. 

Q: How is Auburn different from your hometown?

Adams: VERY HUMID.  

Q: What’s one movie you can quote word for word?

Adams: Matilda. 

Q: Do you have any hidden hobbies or talents?

Adams: I’m good at bowling. 

Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn Family about the upcoming season, what would it be?
