AUBURN, Ala. — It’s a one-match week for No. 16 Auburn soccer as the Tigers trek to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a 7 p.m. CT showdown against LSU on Friday, Oct. 4 at LSU Soccer Stadium.

“Road games in this league are always challenging,” Tigers head coach Karen Hoppa said. “There’s no room to let off or give anything less than our best. We’ve got to learn from our past mistakes and present the best version of Auburn soccer this week if we want to earn three points.”

Auburn (10-1-1, 2-1-1) picked up its 10th win of the season Sunday with a 3-0 result over Ole Miss. Seniors Anna Haddock and Becky Contreras and sophomore Olivia Woodson all found the back of the net while senior Maddie Prohaska made one crucial save in goal to secure her 34th career shutout to set a new program record.

Through four Southeastern Conference matches, the Tigers stand tied for third on the league leaderboard with seven total points.

LSU (7-4-1, 2-2-0) welcomes the Tigers to town standing just one point behind in the league standings. The Bayou Bengals earned six points from a 1-0 win over Ole Miss and a 3-1 win over Oklahoma. LSU has not dropped a match at home since falling 5-2 to Arizona State on the opening weekend of the 2024 season.

History favors the Orange & Blue Tigers this weekend as they have come out on top in 21 of the last 34 meetings, including 11 of the last 15. Auburn last dropped a result to LSU in 2010 and last allowed a goal to the Bayou Bengals in 2016.

Last season, both squads met on The Plains where Auburn earned the 3-0 win. Sophomore Jessica Osborne scored her first career goal in the match, heading in service from a corner kick in the 21st minute. Haddock picked up a pair of assists in the contest.

In nearly 500 minutes of experience against LSU, Prohaska has yet to surrender a goal, saving all 14 on-target shots that have dared to threaten the goal.

Friday’s match will air live on the SEC Network+ with Lyn Rollins and Garrett Walvoord on the call. Matches at the LSU Soccer Stadium are free and open to the public.
