AUBURN, Ala. – Juniors Caroline Buchanan and Caroline Fredenburg as well as sophomore Avery Glynn of the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team were named SEC Riders of the Month for their performances in September, the Southeastern Conference office announced Thursday.

Buchanan was honored for her efforts in Reining, while Fredenburg was awarded in Horsemanship and Glynn on the Flat. The trio helped the Tigers down then-No. 1 TCU at home on September 27, besting the Horned Frogs, 11-7.

The honor is the first for Buchanan, a junior from Scottsdale, Arizona. She came up big for the Tigers in Reining, helping the Tigers go 3-1-1 in the event. Buchanan was the final rider in Reining and found herself having to go against a 72, which was the highest score of the day to that point.

She put together one of the best rides of her career, earning a 73.5 to seal the individual win and give the Tigers the event win over TCU. The 73.5 also set a career high for her and she was awarded MOP for her efforts.

Fredenburg picked up where she left off last season, scoring big to win her match up. With her win, she helped the Tigers go 3-2 in Horsemanship over the Horned Frogs. The Straughn, Indiana product put together a big ride, scoring a big 77 for the Tigers in the first half of the event. She edged her opponent's 76.5 to take the point and was awarded MOP for her performance.

The honor is the third of Fredenburg’s career.

Glynn kicked off the season with a MOP win in Flat, picking up the first SEC Flat Rider of the Month honor of her career.

The Petaluma, California native scored an 87 on her Flat ride for Auburn, besting her opponent's 85. With her win, the Tigers finished 2-2-1 vs. TCU and went on to best the Horned Frogs in Jumping Seat action, 5-4-1.

The Tigers hit the road for the first time this season, heading to South Carolina next week for a Southeastern Conference match up. Auburn and the Gamecocks will go head-to-head on October 11 in Blythewood, South Carolina.
