AUBURN, Ala. – Men’s tennis will represent the Southeastern Conference in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge Friday through Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
Over the course of the event, Southeastern Conference teams Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Texas and Texas A&M will face Big 12 schools Oklahoma State, Baylor, Arizona, Texas Tech and Arizona State. Each team will have two doubles pairs and four singles players in the event.
Joey Phillips, Alex Frusina, Thomas Kennedy and Jake Kennedy will represent the Tigers over the weekend. Phillips and Thomas Kennedy will make up one Auburn doubles team while Frusina and Jake Kennedy will be the other Tiger duo.
Phillips and Thomas Kennedy each recorded a couple of singles wins at the SEC Challenge to open the fall last month. Alex Frusina, a freshman, is set to make his collegiate tennis debut at the event.
On Friday, Auburn players will face two doubles teams from Baylor at noon before playing four singles opponents from Arizona State in the afternoon. The four Tigers will play Oklahoma State in doubles on Saturday before moving on to face Texas Tech in singles matches. Auburn will then close the event by playing Arizona State in two doubles matches and players from Arizona in singles matches on Sunday.
