AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team stays on the road for another top five matchup, traveling No. 4 Oklahoma State. The Tigers and Cowgirls will clash on November 1 at 10 a.m. CT in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
“This is going to be our biggest road test so far,” head coach Jessica Braswell said. “We had a quick turnaround from our meet at UT Martin and coaches Emma Kurtz and Mary Meneely have done a great job getting the team ready to go.”
The meet will be Auburn’s (4-0) the fifth contest against a top 10 team and the third against an opponent in the top five.
“I expect us to compete hard tomorrow,” Braswell said. “Oklahoma State is a really good team and we will need to have our best meet of the season to come home with the win. This team is prepared to do that!”
AUBURN LINEUP
The Auburn lineup will highlight two fifth years, two seniors, four juniors, three sophomores and four freshmen.
Jumping Seat will consist of four riders who will compete in both Flat and Fences.
Spearheading the Tigers will be the fifth year in Ellie Ferrigno followed up by two seniors in Mary-Grace Segars and Sophee Steckbeck and sophomore Avery Glynn.
Glynn leads the team with seven wins on the year, including a 4-0-0 mark in Fences.
Freshman Sadie Berkhout will be riding in Flat and is coming off her win against UT Martin. Freshman Eve Westfall will be back in Fences.
Horsemanship will be comprised of three juniors and two sophomores. Junior Alexia Tordoff will lead the way being undefeated with four wins in the event. Juniors Caroline Fredenburg and Lauren Hall will follow up with Hall coming off a win against UT Martin and Fredenburg looking to get back in the plus.
Sophomore Brooke Jolstad is coming off a victory against UT Martin and sophomore Sydney Swallom looks to add a win to her column.
Reining will be headed by fifth year Olivia Bradley and junior Caroline Buchanan who both have three wins in the event. Tordoff and freshmen Michelle Fumagalli and Catie Reachard will also compete for the squad. Fumagalli and Reachard are each coming off wins on the road vs. the Skyhawks last week.
AUBURN – OKLAHOMA STATE SERIES
Auburn holds the all-time series against Oklahoma State at 15-5.
The latest rendition took place in the 2024 NCEA Championship Quarterfinal on April 18, 2024. Oklahoma State got the best of the Tigers, beating Auburn 10-8.
