MEDINAH, Ill. – Auburn sophomore Anna Davis captured the second individual tournament win of her career on Tuesday at the Illini Women’s Invitational at historic Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois. Davis shot 13-under (203) over three rounds to take the tournament title by three shots over Morgan Smith of Georgia.
"I played the par 5s really well," Davis said after the victory. "My game was super consistent and I wasn't afraid to go low out there. The golf course was absolutely beautiful and probably one of my favorite that I have played since I've been at Auburn. It was really special to win at such a high class venue."
The performance breaks the Auburn program record for lowest 54-hole score, which was previously held by Sophia Schubert with a 204 at the Alamo Invitational in 2014.

The program record for an 18-hole team score also fell on Tuesday, as the Tigers carded the lowest round in school history with a 270 (-18) in the tournament’s final round.
"What a fun day for Coach Kim [Hall] and me to watch the ladies perform as we know they are capable," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said after the event. "Birdies flying everywhere! We talked about patience when the scoring is low and getting locked into good course management. So proud of this young squad for their fight and competitiveness."
Davis shot 67 (-5) on Tuesday to capture the win. Her scorecard featured seven birdies including three consecutive to finish the back nine at Medinah Country Club, Course No. 2. The sophomore has not finished lower than second individually through the team’s first three events of the season.
"Anna [Davis] was due for a win as she has been in the lead in our two previous tournaments," Luellen said about the sophomore. "She has been striking the ball really well and seeing some putts fall. She is such a great influence on our team with her forever calm demeanor."
Redshirt junior Casey Weidenfeld extended her streak of consecutive rounds under par to start the season to five on Tuesday after carding a 2-under 70. Weidenfeld’s 54-hole total of 212 (-4) placed her inside the top-20 for the 12th time in her Auburn career.
Freshman Balma Dávalos Guaita recorded her best score of the season in the third round, a 67 (-5). Her impressive finishing round, which included seven birdies, moved her up 24 spots on the individual leaderboard from the end of round two.
Junior Rachel Gourley was the third Tiger to break 70 on Tuesday, carding a round of 4-under (68) which is a new career low. Gourley and Dávalos Guaita both finished in a tie for 23rd place individually.
Katie Cranston bounced back from a difficult opening round to shoot a 68 of her own in the final round. Cranston’s round marked the lowest of her 2024-25 campaign and led to a tie for 47th place finish at 2-over for the event (218).
Up next, Auburn will compete in its final event of the fall Oct. 21-23 at The Ally McDonald at Old Waverly in West Point, Mississippi.
