AUBURN, Ala. – No. 24 Auburn has been selected as a 2-seed in the Tucson Regional hosted by the University of Arizona, the NCAA announced on Monday. Auburn will be joined in the regional by host school Arizona, Pepperdine and Boise State.

"We're excited to go out to Arizona, a place we've never been," said Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds. "There will be dry heat and hot conditions that usually play fast. I think the guys are ready. We finished the regular season in great fashion and they're playing well in practice. This is what everything has geared us up for, the NCAA Tournament. So we'll leave everything we have out on the court."

Auburn will begin its NCAA Championship run with a first-round matchup against Pepperdine, who is ranked No. 39 in the nation, on Friday at noon CT. With an opening round victory, the Tigers would then face the winner of No. 11 Arizona and 57th ranked Boise State on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT for a chance to advance to the Super Regional round. The dates and times of both matches are still to be determined, but will take place this weekend.

The Tigers finished the season with a 17-10 overall record with wins over No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 16 South Carolina and No. 25 Florida. Auburn has now been selected to participate in the NCAA Championship in each of the last three seasons. This season will also mark the third NCAA Championship berth under head coach Bobby Reynolds and the 40th NCAA postseason bid in program history.

"It's the fun thing about the NCAA Tournament, it's a lot of times teams that you've never played against or have come across," continued Reynolds. "We'll obviously do our homework as far as figuring out different matchups and who they have as players. They don't have many notes on us and we don't have many notes on them, which allows us to kind of go out and compete as best as we can."
