AUBURN, Ala. – Senior Shelby Lowe, one of Auburn softball's team leaders in community service hours, was honored Tuesday with a selection to the Southeastern Conference Softball Community Service Team.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Team for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Lowe has participated in various events and activities to give back to the Auburn community, including Beat Bama Canned Food Drive and the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Project.

With a passion for working with children, Lowe interned at Carey Woods Elementary School throughout the academic year and went above and beyond to enrich the lives of her elementary class, including making sure her students participated in her senior day.

This is the second time in her career that Lowe has been named to the SEC Community Service Team.

Auburn softball begins the 2024 SEC Tournament, hosted at Jane B. Moore Field, on Wednesday. The 10th-seeded Tigers play seventh-seeded Georgia at 4 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
