AUBURN, Ala - The top-ranked Auburn equestrian team has welcomed 22 new faces to the squad in 2024-25 and it’s time to get to know them!

Today’s feature is Frankie Nicklaus!

Year: Freshman
Hometown: Duluth, Georgia
Discipline: Jumping Seat
Prior to Auburn: Finished fifth at the 2022 USEF/NCEA Medal Final … Came in eighth at the 2022 Maclay Regionals … 2022 Circuit Champion Junior Hunter – Aiken Springs … 2022 Circuit Champion Children Jumpers – Blowing Rock.

Q: What made you want to go to Auburn? 
A: “My trainer rode at Auburn, and I looked up to her, so I wanted to be on the team as well. As soon as I stepped on campus I fell in love with the tradition and how it feels like home.”

Q: What is your major and what do you plan to do with it after you graduate?
A: “I’m in pre-interior design. I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet so we will see.”

Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition and why?
A: “Probably rolling the trees after a win. I think it’s such a fun tradition.”

Q: What are you looking forward to in the spring part of season and what was your favorite part of the fall? 
A: “I’m looking forward to the hard work and being a part of a special team. My favorite part of the fall was spending so much time with my teammates.”

Q: How long have you been riding horses and what was the name of your first horse? 
A: “I’ve been riding horses since I was five, and my first horse's name was Reece.”

Q: What has been your favorite riding memory throughout your entire time with the sport?
A: “Going with my parents to horse shows. I spent a lot of time with them over the years.”

Q: How has your freshman experience been so far?
A: “It was a grind, but so worth it.”

Q: Where is your favorite place to be on campus or around Auburn and why?
A: “Toomer's Corner because it’s fun to stop by when downtown.”

Q: What is your favorite Auburn sport to go to and why?
A: “Honestly all the Auburn sports are fun to go to.”

Q: What are some hobbies that you like to do outside of riding?
A: “I love to golf and paint.”

Q: What is your favorite trip you have taken or your dream trip that you want to take?
A: “I want to go to Disney World with my aunt.”

Q: What is your favorite home cooked meal and what makes it so special? 
A: “Probably steak and broccoli, it's good.”

Q: Do you have a pre-meet routine? If so, what is it?
A: “Not really, but I like to get coffee in the morning.”

Q: What has been the best concert you’ve ever attended?
A: “I haven’t really been to many concerts, but my favorite was Taylor Swift.”

Q: If you could have any actor portray you in a movie, who would it be? Why?”
A: “Kate Hudson because I like the movies that she’s in.”
