AUBURN, Ala - The top-ranked Auburn equestrian team has welcomed 22 new faces to the squad in 2024-25 and it’s time to get to know them!
This week we start off with Elizabeth Noll!
Class: Freshman
Hometown: Kennesaw, Georgia
Discipline: Jumping Seat
Q: Why Auburn?
A: “I close Auburn for several reasons. I really enjoyed the campus. It has a nice small town feel even though there is a massive student body. I also knew that there was a great equestrian team. Auburn also has an amazing engineering program. I also have a lot of family and extended family in and around Auburn.”
Q: What is your major, and what are your plans to do with it after college?
A: “Right now I am a mechanical engineering major. I am still only a freshman so my plans might change. But in the future, I would love to be able to help design and build veterinary equipment. Or anything else that has some relation with animals.”
Q: What would you say your biggest accomplishment has been thus far in life?
A: “I think my biggest accomplishment thus far is being here in college, as well as on Auburn’s equestrian team.”
Q: How are you balancing your first year being a collegiate athlete?
A: “I have to say it was a massive adjustment. But with the help of all the different athletics coaches as well as some teammates I have learned how to be successful while being an athlete. Scheduling has become my best friend. A friend recently told me we don’t have time, it’s not something we can give. But making time is possible and that is what I have to do. It has been a challenge, but I am so glad to be where I am at!”
Q: What are you looking forward to heading into your spring season?
A: “I am looking forward to another semester with my teammates. To get to know everyone better as well as take on the challenge of another school semester.
Q: When and why did you start riding horses?
A: “I started riding when I was eight years old. One of my friends had one of those birthdays where they lead you around on a horse. And after that I kept going back.”
Q: What do you hope to accomplish while on the team?
A: “I hope to gain more knowledge of my sport as well as more knowledge of horses. I hope to acquire good habits and skills that I can take with me for any future equestrian adventures. Or just skills I can apply to myself and my life wherever I end up going.”
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: “A fun fact about me is that I have never actually owned a horse.”
Q: Favorite animal besides horses?
A: “My favorite animal besides horses has to be dogs.”
Q: What would you tell your younger self?
A: “I would tell my younger self to buckle up. It is going to be a crazy ride. But on a more serious note, I would say to keep on striving to be the best version of yourself. And push through challenges and in the end, you will conquer things you never thought that you could.”
Q: You have deep roots connected to Auburn, what has been your favorite thing to do as a student you had never done before becoming a student?
A: “Even though I have deep roots at Auburn I had never actually been around campus or to sporting events. And I have really enjoyed going to the football games. And of course, rolling Toomer’s corner. That street corner is a significant part of my family history, and it is amazing to see what it is today.”
