AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team comes in at No. 7 this week per RoadToNationals.com. The weekly rankings are based on the overall team score from the season-opening weekend.
Auburn kicked off the 2025 season with a 195.950 at the American Gold Nashville Collegiate Championship this past Saturday.
Oklahoma is No. 1 after winning the Nashville meet with a 197.550. LSU is second at 197.300, while Michigan State is third at 196.850. Utah (196.775) and Missouri (196.700) round out the top five. Less than half of the nation’s collegiate teams competed during the opening weekend.
Auburn’s beam team showed up big in Nashville, scoring a 49.250 to rank third nationally. Bars is eighth at 49.100, while floor is 13th (48.825) and vault is 14th (48.775).
Individually, freshman Katelyn Jong is tied for 17th in the all-around with a 39.175. She is tied for seventh on bars after earning a 9.9 at the anchor spot for the team.
Freshman Marissa Neal is tied for seventh on beam as she scored a 9.9 in the event in her first collegiate meet. Fifth year Olivia Hollingsworth is tied for 17th at 9.875, while senior Sophia Groth is tied for 23rd at 9.85.
Fifth year Gabby McLaughlin is tied for 16th on floor (9.85), while senior Sara Hubbard is among the top 30 on vault at 9.825.
Auburn continues on the road, traveling to San Antonio for the Lone Star Collegiate Championship. The Tigers will once again compete on the podium and will go against Arizona State, Penn State, Maryland and Temple on Saturday, January 11 at 1 p.m. CT
