BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After an outstanding showing as the Tigers’ individual player at the 2025 Amer Ari Invitational, Auburn rookie Billy Davis was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
It is the second Freshman of the Week nod in the young career of Davis. He shares this week’s honor with Arkansas’ Erich Fortlage.
Davis set a new career low by eight strokes at the Amer Ari, shooting 65-73-65 to finish just outside the top 10 at 13-under-par. His first and final round scorecards came without blemishes as he made 12 birdies, one eagle and 23 pars. He added four more birdies in Friday’s second round to bring his yearly total to 46.
Additionally, Davis was the highest-placing freshman from the conference in entirety of the 123-man field.
The No. 3 Tigers return to action early next month, March 2-4, at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas.
