Cade Belyeu – So. – OF – Auburn, Ala.

  • Playing in honor of his mom, Staci, who passed away early Friday morning, Belyeu singled in his first at-bat of the season and hit a solo home run in his third at-bat to extend Auburn’s lead from one run to two in its season-opening win vs. Holy Cross.
  • Dating back to last season, the home run marked his sixth in the last eight contests.
  • Collected a hit in all three contests, including multiple hits in two of three games and a career-high-matching three hits in the series finale, and led the team with six hits for the weekend.
  • Stole a base in all three games, including a career-high three stolen bases in the series finale, and was second in the league with five stolen bases on the weekend.
  • Made an inning-ending catch while crashing against the wall in center field to end the top of the sixth inning and help preserve the Tigers’ lead in the series finale.

  • Went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in the series-clinching win vs. Holy Cross.
  • Also drew a pair of walks and was hit by a pitch to reach base five times in the series finale.
  • His three-run home run in the sixth inning Sunday extended Auburn’s lead from one run to four.

  • Collected a hit in all three games, including multiple hits in each of the last two, and was second on the team with five hits for the weekend.
  • Singled in his first Auburn at-bat Friday and scored both of the team’s runs in Saturday’s game.
  • Reached base three times and matched Belyeu with a career-high three stolen bases in the middle game.
  • Drove in the first run of his Auburn career with a RBI double in the second inning of Sunday’s series-clinching win.

  • Made his season debut in the seventh inning of Friday’s season opener and retired nine of the 10 batters he faced to earn his second career save.
  • Needed just 32 pitches to get through his 3.0 innings and threw 25 strikes (78 percent).
  • Retired the first seven batters he faced before allowing a one-out single the ninth but struck out the last two batters he faced to end the game.

Team Notes

The Tigers opened the 2025 season at a newly-renovated Plainsman Park and immediately set a single-game attendance record of 5,718 on Opening Night … the three-day attendance total of 15,300 also set a program record, surpassing last year’s total of 15,153 vs. Tennessee … Auburn’s 14 runs in the series finale were the most since scoring 24 runs in game three vs. Austin Peay on Mar. 10 last year … nine players collected a hit in the finale against the Crusaders, including five with multiple hits … the Tigers were 12-for-13 in stolen bases, marking the third-highest total in the league for Opening Weekend … 12 position players made a start and 13 saw action on the weekend, including seven making their Auburn debuts … four freshmen position players in Chase Fralick, Addison Klepsch, Chris Rembert and Bub Terrell made a start … the weekend rotation of Cade Fisher, Samuel Dutton and Christian Chatterton hadn’t collectively thrown a pitch in an Auburn uniform prior to the weekend … it marked the first time since at least 1992 that the starting rotation for Opening Weekend consisted of three new pitchers … 12 pitchers took the mound on the weekend, including four who made their Auburn debuts.
