Gymnastics Rankings: Week 7

The first National Qualifying Score rankings were released this week and the Auburn gymnastics team stands at No. 11 with a 196.785.

AUBURN, Ala. – The first National Qualifying Score rankings were released this week and the Auburn gymnastics team stands at No. 11 with a 196.785.
 
The NQS rankings take the top six scores, dropping the highest before adding the next five and finding the average. Three of the five scores added together must be on the road.

Oklahoma remains at the top of the rankings with a 197.730 NQS. UCLA moves to No. 2 with a score of 197.455, while LSU stands at No. 3 with a 197.420. Utah (197.235) and Florida (197.190) round out the top five.

The rest of the Southeastern Conference remains in the top 20 - Missouri (No. 8), Kentucky (No. 9), Georgia (No. 12), Arkansas (No. 14), and Alabama (No. 17) following. 

Auburn’s beam squad is ranked No. 4 nationally with a 49.320 NQS. Bars remain ranked at No. 12 (49.150), while floor is ranked No. 19 (49.210). Vault moved in the rankings to No. 13 (49.100).

Individually, Katelyn Jong is ranked No. 17 in the all-around with a 39.365 NQS. She is ranked eighth on bars (9.895) and 19th on beam (9.865).

Senior Sara Hubbard stands No. 30, on vault nationally with a 9.840 NQS, while senior Gabby McLaughlin’s 9.925 last Friday moved her up to No. 33 on beam with a 9.850. Senior Sophia Groth is ranked No. 36 with a 9.860 NQS on floor.

Auburn takes on No. 17 Alabama in Tuscaloosa this Friday, February 21. The Tigers and the Tide will face off at 7:30 p.m. CT and it will be televised on SEC Network.
