BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Tx. - Auburn seniors Maura Huwalt and Kyle Brown highlighted the Tiger’s showing with first place finishes in weight throw in the Charlie Thomas Invitational at the R.A. “Murray” Fasken Indoor Track in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
Senior Maura Huwalt took the top spot on the podium in women’s weight throw for the fourth time in four weeks. In the first round of the event, Huwalt’s best throw was 21.25m. She advanced to the final round where she broke the facility record with a toss of 21.31m.
Brown joined Huwalt on the winner’s podium in weight throw. His best attempt of the day came from his third toss of the competition (21.22).
Also competing in the weight throw, junior John Leonard claimed silver (20.51).
In women’s shot put, sophomore Marley Raikiwasa and Huwalt took fourth and fifth, respectively, with marks of 15.75m and 15.69m.

The Tigers will split duties between Clemson, South Carolina, to compete at the Tiger Paw Invitational, Feb. 14-15, and Boston, Massachusetts, for the Boston University Valentine Invitational, Feb 14.
