Glynn, Tordoff named NCEA Riders of the Month

AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Avery Glynn and junior Alexia Tordoff were named Arion Sellier Riders of the Month for March by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Wednesday.

The NCEA honor was a first for Glynn, who was awarded for her performances in Fences. Tordoff picked up her first NCEA honor in Horsemanship.

Glynn, of Petaluma, California, put together a perfect mark in Fences in March, going 3-0-0 in the event to improve to 11-0-0 overall for the season. Two of her wins came on the road and she earned two Most Outstanding Performer honors as well. She averaged an 87.6 over the three rides and had an overall win margin of 28.5 points.

She led off with an 87-65 win at home vs. No. 7 Georgia (3/1), downing her opponent by 22 points and winning MOP. She followed with a huge ride on the road at No. 2 SMU (3/7), scoring a 90 to beat her Mustang opponent by 51 points. That gave her MOP and the 90 was her highest Fences sore of the spring.

Glynn capped the regular season with another road win, coming at No. 4 Texas A&M. She defeated her opponent, 86-73.5, and helped the Tigers go 4-1 in the event.

Tordoff, of Powell, Ohio, put an exclamation on an outstanding regular season in Horsemanship with three wins and one MOP in March. She improved to 13-1-0 on the year in the event and averaged a 76 over three meets.

She kicked off March with a 75.5-68 victory at home vs. Georgia, helping the Tigers go 4-1 in the event to best the Bulldogs. She followed with a big win on the road at SMU, besting her opponent 75-73.75.

Tordoff closed out her regular season with another win on the road at Texas A&M. She edged her opponent, 77.5-77, winning MOP and helping the team top the Aggies in the event, 3-2.
