AUBURN, Ala. – For the third time this season, Auburn sophomore Anna Davis has earned SEC Player of the Week honors. Davis picked up the honor after claiming the individual title at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
Davis won the event by one stroke with a 54-hole score of 201 (-9), which set the record for lowest in program history. The sophomore followed two under-par rounds on Monday with a bogey-free round of 6-under with six birdies on Tuesday. It is the second time that Davis has carded the score this season, as she shot 64 (-7) in the opening round of the Schooner Fall Classic in September. Davis led the field in par-4 scoring, as she played them at 6-under over three rounds.
The win marked the third collegiate title of Davis’ career, as she was the NCAA Auburn Regional low medalist last season and won the Illini Invitational at Medinah earlier this season.
Davis led the Tigers to a tie for third place in the event at 6-over (846).
In addition to being named SEC Freshman of the Week on April 5, 2024, Davis was tabbed SEC Player of the Week twice in the fall on Sep. 18, 2024 and Oct. 9, 2024.
Davis and the Tigers will begin the postseason at the SEC Championship April 14-18 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
